An unmissable opportunity
Gary Osborne, the General Manager of The Kingston Theatre Hotel, heard that HBEES was offering advice, support and grant funding for making businesses greener and more environmentally friendly.

Just a few simple questions
Gary filled in our application form to find out if The Kingston Theatre Hotel qualified under the Hull Business Energy Efficiency Scheme. Congratulations Gary, you’re eligible for support!
Expert energy audit
We then sent our energy partners, NPS, to take a look around the Hotel and determine what could be done to improve its levels of energy efficiency.

Helpful advice
HBEES provided Gary with an insightful energy report that suggested ways to significantly reduce the property’s carbon emissions.
A cleaner, greener hotel
The Kingston Theatre Hotel is a beautiful building located directly opposite Hull New Theatre. With comfortable rooms, wedding facilities, a welcoming restaurant and an award-winning afternoon tea dining service, Gary decided to invest in a new boiler that would heat the premises more reliably and efficiently.

Savings of over £1,100 every year!
Reduced annual carbon emissions by almost 6 tonnes
From the client
We contacted HBEES to help us understand our environmental impacts and what could be done to reduce our carbon footprint.
An energy efficiency audit identified that by replacing our gas boiler we could reduce our annual gas costs by approximately £1,100 and reduce annual carbon emissions by almost 6 tonnes.
We replaced our 30-year-old boiler and were awarded 40% towards the costs.
From start to finish the application process was simple and easy to understand, the support and advice from Hull City Council has been first class.
