Strata Holdings

The challenge

After launching HBEES, Strata Holdings were one of the first businesses to get in touch with us to see how we could help them reduce their carbon emissions on their premises.

Once we had confirmed that they were a Hull SME eligible for the scheme, we coordinated with our delivery partners NPS to undertake the initial energy assessment at the Strata House in Hull.

The Report showed that Strata Holdings had various options to reduce their carbon footprint, this included the replacement of existing boilers, replacement of existing roof and adding insulation or to replace their current light systems with an LED lighting system and additional controls.

The solution

Our decision was to replace the current light systems with an LED lighting system and additional controls. This included external Flood Lighting, with a grant value of £1,791.70.

LED lighting systems are up to 80% more efficient than traditional lighting such as the fluorescent and incandescent lights that Strata Holdings had internally and externally.

95% of the energy in LEDs is converted into light, with only 5% wasted as heat.

The results

A carbon reduction of 2,718kg which is roughly the equivalent of 6 grand pianos!
